The CW Hypes ‘Supergirl’ at the Upfronts

The big news at this year’s CW upfronts was, of course, the addition of Melissa Benoist and Supergirl. The network is playing it safe by keeping the show in its Monday 8/7c timeslot, and they confirmed that they are planning a four part crossover for December, to absolutely no one’s surprise :)

The CW has released two promotional videos on its YouTube featuring Supergirl. Unlike CBS, the CW has always made its YouTube channel available to viewers in all regions, and they are among the best at producing fan-pleasing trailers. I’m looking forward to their marketing push for Supergirl Season 2.

Supergirl has been confirmed for a 22-episode season starting in October on Mondays, before Jane the Virgin. The CW will now feature a different Warner Bros./DC Comics show four nights a week:

Monday 8/7c – Supergirl
Tuesday 8/7c – The Flash
Wednesday 8/7c – Arrow
Thursday 8/7c – Legends of Tomorrow

Fellow comic book adaptations iZombie and the new Archie Comics’ Riverdale series will air midseason (January 2017), with one of them likely stepping into Legends’ timeslot.

Entertainment Weekly has the full CW line-up.
