22. We never know how Argo City came to be? Obviously, it has got to be related to Krypton in some way since Kara is Superman's cousin. However, if you've seen Superman I, it's pretty clear that the explosion tore Krypton apart and that there's no way a piece of Krypton could've survived. All we know about Argo City is that Zaltar helped establish it. Nor do we know where in space Argo City is. Zaltar says that Argo City is in inner space and that earth is in outer space. Now I don't know about you, but this makes no sense to me whatsover. You might as well tell me we're here just because we are.

Answer. From the movie, we know that Argo City is situated in Innerspace. The storybook tells us that when Krypton exploded, Argo City did in fact survive. I remember reading from another source that the explosion created something of a wormhole to allow Argo to be swept away safely at the moment of detonation.

23. Alura (Mia Farrow's character) says something very confusing when Kara leaves for Earth. She says that Kara will never be the same if she comes back. Ok, but why? This isn't explained. Kara goes to earth and inherits the same powers as Superman, fine. No problem. But at the end of the movie when she goes back to Argo City, she still has her powers. If she still has her powers at the end of the movie in Argo City with no problem, then what prevents the rest of Argo City from having the same powers?
I suppose the best way to put it is: Why can't Kara go back to being the way she was when she returns? And what makes Alura think that Kara won't be the same?

Someone told me that the script states that the Omedgahedron protects Kara when she goes back to Argo City and that she has returned to normal, but the movie leaves that very shady and makes the entire plot hole even wider because Alura stated that Kara will "never be the same again, ever." The only possible way to explain why Alura said that is that she never expected Kara to return to Argo City again, but even that is a bit shaky since Kara obviously left to pursue the Omegahedron to return it. I guess Alura instantly gave up hope of Kara ever bringing back the Omegahedron.

Answer. When Alura says "Then she'll never be the same -- ever," she was not referring to Kara travelling from Innerspace to Outer Space. She is referring to what Zaltar says in the uncut version: "Gravitational Radiation. Into another register." From the novel, "noone could forsee the effects of gravitational radiation on any living thing." We are to assume that like any radiation, it can change you. SuperMAN did not travel through such gravitational radiation, and I think that this explains why Kara is able to fly back to Argo with all of her powers (explaining why she did not have them before). I think the conversation between ALura Zor-El and Zaltar would be easier to understand if it went like this (not changing the words, but changing which phrase is spoken when):

Alura: She'll be killed.
Zaltar: Oh, no she won't. She will be safe. Through the binary. Through the warp. A pathway from Innerspace to Outer Space. Into another register.
Zor-El: Another What?
Zaltar: Gravitational Radiation.
Alura: Then she'll never be the same -- ever.

24. Where do Selina, Bianca and the "Power of Shadow" go at the end of the film? The tornado takes them into a mirror, but what the hell is that? Where do they go?
Answer. At the end of the film, Supergirl creates a tornado that picks up Selena, Bianca, and Selena's Astral Image. It then deposits them into the broken mirror and is sealed. I really don't see a plot hole here, but I'll explain it for everyone who hasn't figured it out. Think. How did the mirror break in the first place? Supergirl broke through it when she was escaping from the PHANTOM ZONE. The tornado deposited them into the phantom zone, and what was directly on the other side? The VORTEX.

25. Why come out of the water?
Answer. At the end of the original script, Selena asks where Innerspace is. Supergirl replies "Its everywhere, but water is always the door." This explains why the Omegahedron flies out of the lake at an arc to fall intothe picnic dish (in other words, it DID NOT fall from the sky), and it also exlplains why Supergirl arives and departs from earth through the lake.

26. Linda Lee Blonde/Brunette? What?
Answer. In the script, Supergirl has a hidden pouch in her cape which stows a brunette wig, and Midvale School clothes. This is indeed a plothole in the movie. Although, Helen Slater is a natural brunette. (watch AMY AND THE ANGEL, plus look at her eyebrows). She colored her hair for the film, and I don't think she has ever gone back.

27. How does Selena find out about the Phantom Zone?
Answer. This remains a mystery. It is explained in the Superman movies that the Phantom zone was created for KRYPTONIAN criminals. I have no clue how She finds out about it. Although, the disk she uses is the same one for the Superman movies, and yet hers is the only one that actually makes it to the Phantom Zone. If you recall in Superman 2, Zod Ursa and Non were in a disk flying through space. Weird.

28. SIXTH-Dimensional Geometry?!
Answer. Physicists today have theorized at least 10 (ten) possible dimensions. I don't understand nor know of three of them. This is VERY difficult to explain with words, so if you don't want a headache, scroll down. The first three dimensions have to do with volume (X,Y,Z). The next three dimensions ALSO have to do with volume, but NEGATIVE volume. Remember ABSolute value? It can't be negative when taking into account only the first three dimensions. Its like getting out a tape measure and trying measure something negatively. Not on the number line. The number line does in fact have negative values on it. DISREGARD THE NUMBER LINE. IT IS ONLY A LIST OF POSSIBLE VALUES. The only blooper the movie made was trying to apply this to calculating the population on China in the year 2040. That problem requires formulas, not advanced physics and knowledge of volume. The seventh dimension is TIME. Yes, in Physics, time is considered a dimension, and therefore theoretically, able to be passed through back and forth.

29. Why does the Coffer of Shadows grow?
Answer. The omegahedron inside is a great power source. I guess the power has to be given off to something when not in use. In argo city, it powered the lights and such, so it was always in use, and its resources were always tapped.

30. How does Selena find out about the Phantom Zone?
