Daring New Adventures of Supergirl added to Comixology!

DC Comics continues to digitize the Supergirl back-catalog by releasing the series The Daring New Adventures of Supergirl (1982-1984) on Comixology.

This is the first time this series has ever been reprinted since its original publication. DC rarely digitizes their Bronze Age comics as most have never been restored for print collections, so this is a pretty big deal.

The series is being released 1 issue per week, while the 1996 Supergirl series is being released on a more aggressive 3-issue per week schedule, which will see the final issues released on Dec 30, 2015. Clearly DC is getting these series out to coincide with the TV series.

The slower release schedule for Daring New Adventures makes sense due to the additional work required to prepare it for digital release, which includes new colors. I bought the first issue and it looks gorgeous. I own many of these issues already, but it’s a much more pleasant experience reading them after being cleaned up and recolored. I can’t wait to read the series every week as it’s released.

This is the perfect series to read in preparation for the TV show, and I’m really happy to see it made available to everyone in a beautiful presentation that shows the story to its best.
