The ‘Superman/Batman: Supergirl’ Movie Is Good!

I just finished watching Superman/Batman: Apocalypse, and it’s WAY better than the comics! The ending is so much better, it really surprised me. Much of the cringe-worthy dialogue and annoying moments were either cut, fixed or softened which I really appreciated.

Director Lauren Montgomery did a fantastic job of improving on the source material; I’m going to have to check out her other DC animated movies. This was a huge improvement after the Superman/Batman: Public Enemies animated movie.

Read an interview with Lauren Montgomery on bringing Supergirl to the screen.

Michelle loves comics and code. The Superfamily are her favourite comic book characters, but she’s a fan of many DC, Marvel, Image and manga series. Her fansites can be found at

  1. I have to agree here. I just watched it last night and this was a really good movie. I dare say it’s the best DC animated movie yet. The ending battle on Smallville had a very epic feel to it. The only negative thing I can say is that the voice of Darkseid was weak. Other than that I can’t find anything wrong with this movie.

  2. The epic ending battle was my favourite part :) Mostly because it fixed what I thought was a very weak ending in the comics.

The only DC animated movies I’ve seen before are Doomsday and Public Enemies, and those were a big disappointment. (Oh, and a bit of Justice League: New Frontier on TV, but I never saw the whole thing.) I was pleasantly surprised.
