Supergirl Rock Candy Figure In Box

Funko released an unboxing video of the May Legions of Collectors subscription box earlier this month, and to my surprise, the exclusive TV Supergirl figure that’s included is not a Pop! figure but a Rock Candy! I had accepted not being able to get the Melissa Benoist version as a Pop, but this was too much cuteness. I just had to order her off eBay.

Watch the unboxing video here, and then check out the conceptual drawings for the Rock Candy Supergirl below.

Funko has released this behind the scenes look at the making of their Rock Candy Supergirl:

Our DC TV Legion of Collectors box included a figure from Funko’s new Rock Candy line, the TV version of Supergirl played by the wonderful Melissa Benoist!

Funko’s newest line features 5-inch stylized vinyl figures of some of the most powerful women around! Each Rock Candy figure comes on its own removable base.

Supergirl Rock Candy Concept Model

Rock Candy’s regular line was just hitting stores as our DC TV box was shipped out – making it the first time that an item in one of our subscription boxes launched alongside the full line!

See the original concept art for this figure above, created by Funko sculptor Nena Ijiomah.

“When I was working on this, I tried to capture the textures they used in the fabrics for her super suit,” said Nena. “One of the things I like about the Rock Candy line is that we always try and add a little bit of each character’s personality into the attitude of their pose, so each one feels more like their own person.”

Here are the color callouts that were made as the figure entered production:
