Diamond Select Toys Reveals New SUPERGIRL Statue from SUPERMAN: The Animated Series

I love New York Toy Fair!

Diamond Select Toys has revealed their new line-up of product based on the DC Animated Universe franchise at Toy Fair 2015 this weekend, and there’s a real treat in store for Supergirl fans.

DST have acquired the license for the DC Entertainment properties (or part of the license, as DC Collectibles will continue to release action figures from these properties), and they’ve wasted no time in rolling out a full range of great-looking PVC statues and busts based on the classic Batman: The Animated Series, Superman: The Animated Series, and Justice League series.

IGN has the exclusive first look at the first PVC statue to be released by Diamond, and it’s none other than the DCAU fan-favourite, Supergirl!

Superman: The Animated Series Supergirl PVC Statue by Diamond Select Toys

It’s time to thank Rao — Supergirl is getting a statue from Diamond Select Toys. Officially called the Superman TAS Femme Fatales Supergirl PVC Statue, the sculpture marks the Diamond line’s first foray into the DC Universe.

Standing 9 inches tall (proportional to other statues in the Femme Fatales line), Kara Zor-El perches upon a rocky base and comes in a full-colour window box.

Diamond’s sculpted take on Supergirl is based on Bruce Timm’s character design from the DC Animated Universe, wherein the character appeared on both Superman: The Animated Series and Justice League Unlimited.

Diamond Select Toys’ Supergirl statue goes on sale this summer for a SRP of $45, but you can pre-order it on their website starting next week.

Wow! This statue looks fantastic. I cannot wait to add this iconic version of the animated Supergirl, Kara In-Ze, to my collection. I’m delighted to see this franchise making a comeback in collectible figures in a big way. I love the simple, clean lines of the animated designs which lend the characters their iconic look, and the quality of this Supergirl figure looks great (of course, it is a prototype).

See this post for the rest of the PVC statues and busts previewed by Diamond Select Toys at Toy Fair 2015.

I hope we get some statues of the less represented characters from the expanded JLU universe!
